Die-cut labels in any shape you can draw.
Our ABG Digilase cuts each label straight from the outline in your artwork file. There’s no steel cutting die to buy or wait for, and a new shape is just a new file. It cuts curves down to a 0.3mm radius, finer than steel rule can manage.
Minimum order £120 + VAT. We aim to get back to you the same working day.
Cut, foiled and varnished in one pass.
Our JetFX embellishment module is fitted to the same Digilase, so a shaped label with metallics or spot UV never has to visit a second machine.
Foil, flat spot UV and raised tactile varnish go on in the same pass as the laser cut, registered to each other and to the print. The edge of the shape lines up with the artwork, because the same file drives both.
Changing to a new shape takes under two minutes, so a range with different outlines can run back to back as one job. Every label on the roll can even have its own shape.
For long runs of one standard shape, a semi-rotary steel die on our Digicon lines can be quicker. A new die costs around £100 per shape, and we show it on your quote before you commit.
How the shape gets cut.
What buyers and designers ask before they send a dieline. If your shape is unusual, send it over and we’ll check it at pre-flight.
Straight from your file
The Digilase follows the cut line in your PDF. Points, holes, tight curves and fine cut-outs that a steel die can’t reach, down to a 0.3mm radius.
Labels on the backing
The laser cuts through the label and stops at the liner, so labels peel off the roll one by one, by hand or on a labelling machine.
Right through the liner
The cut goes through the backing too, for individual pieces rather than labels on a roll.
Every label can differ
Each label on the roll can have its own outline, so a range with different shapes runs as one job.
For long runs of one shape
Semi-rotary dies on our Digicon lines for long runs of a standard shape. A new die costs around £100 and shows on your quote.
Cut line on its own layer
Draw the outline as a separate spot-colour layer in your PDF. We check it at pre-flight, and your digital proof shows the cut line over the artwork.
Need a rapid turnaround?
Get in touch and tell us your date. A laser-cut shape needs no cutting die, so there’s no wait for a cutter to arrive. We schedule our own presses, so we can check your date and give you a straight answer.
Our minimum order is £120 + VAT per job, because every job is set up as its own production run. Peel & reveal labels have a higher minimum, quoted per job.
Sectors that cut to shape.
A shaped label makes a pack stand apart on a crowded shelf. These sector pages show the stocks and finishes that suit each one.
