Metal next to something matt.
Foil looks brightest beside a surface that doesn’t shine, so we usually pair it with a matt stock, a soft-touch laminate or raised varnish.
A pairing brands often ask for is gold foil with raised tactile varnish over the wordmark. JetFX lays both in one pass from layers in your PDF, registered to each other, so the light catches the metal and the raised edge together.
Moe & Co’s hair-care range uses silver foil on a matt label, so the metal carries the brand against a quiet background. Over soft-touch laminate the effect is stronger again, because your fingers feel the velvet surface around the shine.
Foil is laid digitally on JetFX, so every label on the roll can carry different foil artwork: a name, a number, or a new design for each flavour in a range.

JetFX, straight from your file
Gold, silver and holographic foil laid over an adhesive printed digitally from your artwork, registered to the print underneath. It covers a full panel or picks out fine detail.
Inline on our Digicon lines
Our two Digicon Series 3 finishing lines carry hot and cold foil stations for jobs that suit them, such as long runs or a bespoke foil tone. Where a foil block is needed, it shows on your itemised quote.
Shine across the whole label
Metallised film gives full-surface shine for less than foil. We print colour over it and lay white ink where you want solid colour, so the metal shows only where you leave it bare.
A rainbow shift
Holographic stock with full-colour artwork printed over the top, so the shift shows through in the highlights. A favourite for limited editions and seasonal drops.

Put the foil areas on a separate spot-colour layer named “Foil” in your PDF. We pre-flight the file, and your digital proof marks exactly where the foil lands.
